Question 1 |

A, B, C, are three partners .They altogether invested Rs. 14000 in business. At the end of the year, A got Rs. 337.50, B got Rs. 1125 and C got Rs. 637.50 as the profit. What is The difference between the investments of B and A?

Rs. 2200 | |

Rs. 3200 | |

Rs. 4200 | |

Rs. 5250 |

Question 1 Explanation:

Here investment is done in the ratio of 337.50 : 1125 : 637.50

So we can write it as

27 : 90 : 51 = 9 : 30 : 17

Now let the investment is in the form of 9a, 30a, 17a respectively

So we can say that total investment of all the partners = 9a +30a+17a = 14000(given)

So from here a = 250

And the difference between the Investments of B and A = 30a – 9a = 21a = 21 x 250 = Rs. 5250

Hence option D

So we can write it as

27 : 90 : 51 = 9 : 30 : 17

Now let the investment is in the form of 9a, 30a, 17a respectively

So we can say that total investment of all the partners = 9a +30a+17a = 14000(given)

So from here a = 250

And the difference between the Investments of B and A = 30a – 9a = 21a = 21 x 250 = Rs. 5250

Hence option D

Question 2 |

Anu is working partner and Bimla is a sleeping partner in the business. Anu puts in Rs. 5000 and Bimla puts in Rs. 6000 . Anu receives 12.5% of the profit for managing the business and the rest is divided in proportion to their capital. What does each get out of a profit of Rs. 880?

Rs. 400, Rs. 480 | |

Rs. 460, Rs. 420 | |

Rs. 450, Rs. 430 | |

Rs. 470, Rs. 410 |

Question 2 Explanation:

Total profit = Rs. 880

Investment ratio of both the partners = 5:6

It is given that Anu receives 12.5% of the profit for managing the business

So 125/1000 x 880 = Rs. 110

Now 880 – 110 = 770

This Rs. 770 is divided with respect to the ratio of investments

So Profit of Anu = 5/11 x 770 = Rs. 350

Total profit of Anu = 350 + 110 = Rs. 460

And the profit of Bimla = 6/11 x 770 = Rs. 420

Question 3 |

The contribution of Prashant and Maninder is Rs. 1500 and Rs. 900 in a business . Prashant is sleeping partner and Maninder gets 10% of the profit for management and the rest of the profit is divided in the proportion of their capitals .If the profit is Rs. 800 what is the share of Maninder?

Rs. 375 | |

Rs. 360 | |

Rs. 350 | |

Rs. 450 |

Question 3 Explanation:

Total profit = Rs. 800

Given that Maninder gets 10% of the profit for management

So 10% of 800 = Rs. 80

Now money invested in the ratio of 5:3

Therefore

So the share of Maninder = 3/8 x 720 + 80 = Rs. 350

Given that Maninder gets 10% of the profit for management

So 10% of 800 = Rs. 80

Now money invested in the ratio of 5:3

Therefore

So the share of Maninder = 3/8 x 720 + 80 = Rs. 350

Question 4 |

Atish and Richa are partners in a business .Atish contributed 1/3 of the capital for the 9 months and Richa received 2/5 of the profit .For how long was Richa’s money used in the business ?

4 months | |

3 months | |

2 months | |

5 months |

Question 4 Explanation:

Contribution of Atish = 1/3

Therefore the remaining contribution is automatically of Richa = 2/3

So we can say that the ratio of contributions of Atish and Richa = 1/3 : 2/3 = 1:2

Now Richa received = 2/5

Then the profit of Atish = 3/5

So the ratio of profit will be equal to the = 3: 2

Let the share of Atish in the partnership is for p months

So the ratio become = 1 x 9 : 2 x p = 3: 2

So p = 3 month

^{rd}of the capitalTherefore the remaining contribution is automatically of Richa = 2/3

^{rd}of the total capitalSo we can say that the ratio of contributions of Atish and Richa = 1/3 : 2/3 = 1:2

Now Richa received = 2/5

^{th}of the profitThen the profit of Atish = 3/5

^{th}of the profitSo the ratio of profit will be equal to the = 3: 2

Let the share of Atish in the partnership is for p months

So the ratio become = 1 x 9 : 2 x p = 3: 2

So p = 3 month

Question 5 |

Divide Rs. 671 among Varoon, Richa, Natasha, such that if their shares be increased by Rs. 3,Rs. 7 and Rs. 9 respectively, the remainder shall be in the ratio of 1 : 2 : 3 .

Rs. 110, Rs. 220, Rs. 336

Rs. 112, Rs. 223, Rs. 336

Rs. 105, Rs. 223, Rs. 330

none of these |

Question 5 Explanation:

Let the total investment = p

The ratio of shares is given i.e. 1 : 2 : 3

So the ratio would be = p : 2p : 3p

Now we are given their increased share i.e Rs. 3 Rs. 7 and Rs. 9

Before increasing the ratio of shares = (p -3):(2p-7):(3p-9)

Therefore the total investment

= (p -3)+(2p-7)+(3p-9) = 671

6p = 690

p = 115

So Varoon = Rs. 112

Richa = Rs. 223

Natasha = Rs. 336

The ratio of shares is given i.e. 1 : 2 : 3

So the ratio would be = p : 2p : 3p

Now we are given their increased share i.e Rs. 3 Rs. 7 and Rs. 9

Before increasing the ratio of shares = (p -3):(2p-7):(3p-9)

Therefore the total investment

= (p -3)+(2p-7)+(3p-9) = 671

6p = 690

p = 115

So Varoon = Rs. 112

Richa = Rs. 223

Natasha = Rs. 336
