Every year May 1 is celebrated as International Labour/Workers day. It is the day to pay tribute to those involved in labour. In India, the first Labour Day was celebrated in 1923 in Chennai.

1. Real Estate regulation act comes into effect.

  • This act will bring more clarity and fair practices that would protect the interests of buyers and also impose penalties on culpable builders.
  • Under this act, states had to notify the realty rules and set up Real Estate Regulatory Authority by April 30. However only one state Madhya Pradesh has set up RERA.
