1. Aam Aadmi Party celebrates its 5th Foundation Day

  • A national convention was held at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi.
  • Senior party leader Gopal Rai said the convention will see discussions on various issues like the Jan Lokpal Bill passed by the Assembly.

2. Mumbai airport handles record 969 flights in 24 hours

  • This is a new record for single runway operations.
  • It broke its own record of 935 flights registered in May this year.

3. Schedule for JEE Main 2018 out

  • The CBSE has announced that the online application process for JEE Main 2018 will begin from Dec 1, 2017 and go on until Jan 1, 2018.
  • Paper based exam is scheduled for April 8 and computer based exam is scheduled for April 15-16.

International News

1. Would increase missile range if threatened by Europe : Iran

  • Brigadier General Hossein Salami said that the country could increase its missile range beyond 2000 kms.
  • He added that they have restricted the range not due to lack of technology but are following a strategic doctrine.

2. Nepal holds its first parliamentary election in 18 years

  • Over 15 million voters will choose representatives for 275 seats in federal parliament and 550 seats in seven provincial assemblies.
  • The second phase of the elections is scheduled on Dec 7th .

1. Cryptocurrency Bitcoin reaches new high of $9000

  • The price of Bitcoin has jumped more than 800% this year.
  • The latest rise has been attributed to increased investor interest around the US Thanksgiving holiday and Black Friday shopping.

2. Will support Apple set up manufacturing unit : Suresh Prabhu

  • He said that India is awaiting a formal proposal from Apple.
  • He added that the Centre will call all CMs who want to give the best deal.

1. Sindhu loses to world no. 1

  • PV Sindhu lost to Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu Ying in the women’s singles final of the Hong Kong Open Superseries on Sunday.
  • This was Ying’s 5th Superseries title of 2017.

2. Gopi Thonakal 1st Indian man to win Asian Marathon Championship

  • He achieved the feat in the 16th edition of the event .
  • Andrey Petrov of Uzbekistan bagged the silver medal while Byambalev Tseveenravdan of Mongolia won the bronze.
